Right after I did the first Hat Over the Fence video (if you haven’t seen that yet, just click here ) I got into a discussion with someone who watched it… about the $10,000. I realized I needed to add a little P.S. So here it is.
$10,000. It’s not like the Universe says “okay, show up and throw your hat over the fence” and come on in and then $10,000 or whatever it is, is just going to come right away. The Universe doesn’t work in that straight of a line. Every now and then it does work that way, but more often than not, it works in this crooked, round and around about way.
One thing may happen that you feel called into which leads to something else which leads to something else.
So, let’s talk about the $10,000. I use money because it’s an easy example but it applies to anything you want.
It’s not like there’s something I want, something I feel called to do and so I invest in myself; I plunk down my money; and then magically that exact amount of money comes right back to me.
My colleague this morning was saying that she has plunked down a lot of money recently in her business and was wondering why that money wasn’t already coming back to her–with interest! Her question was “I plunk down $2500 here, $3000 here, and $1500 here and so boom $7000 should come right back to me. Why isn’t it?” Well, very simply, it doesn’t work like that.
It’s a crooked. Sometimes agonizingly crooked road.
The way it works is that if you show up; if there’s something calling you forward–whether it’s writing a letter, starting a program, or some kind of investment in yourself–if you say YES… Amazing, incredible things are going to happen. They just might not happen in the order you think they should.
