There’s more than a lot going on in our personal world and our global one and it’s beyond super easy to get caught up in the undertow of all of it and start spazzing out.
I don’t know about you, but when I go into that spaz out mode it looks quite a bit like somebody cut a live wire; sparks flying in every direction. Approach with caution! Not a pretty picture and it’s most definitely not an internally fun feeling.
In fact, it quite sucks…
And let’s face it, the fastest things to go when we’re spazzing out (see I’m just assuming you spazz out sometimes too because you’re one of those highly sensitive wonders, just like me) are the simplest and easiest of our habits. It all feels so overwhelming sometimes so…
- Who cares about drinking plenty of water?
- Who cares about walking barefoot on some juicy moss (my particular favorite)?
- Who cares about going to bed on time?
Because really, what possible difference could it make in the grand scheme of things if you and I drink plenty of water and walk barefoot in the woods and go to bed on time?
Of course the answer to that question, is actually quite a lot.
If all of us on this planet were taking care of ourselves, if all of us were getting plenty of rest and walking barefoot in the sand and drinking—no not another glass of wine or another shot of whiskey—but pure delicious water, we wouldn’t be in all of the messes we’re in. I’ve gotten on a soapbox here and I’m about to really ramp it up so let me cut this off at the chase before I trip down a rabbit hole.
So, off the soap box I gingerly step. Let me just very gently and lovingly remind you to take off your shoes and take a deep breath and drink plenty of pure water and tilt your face up to the sun and smell the flowers and the leaves and the earth and touch a tree and say good morning to your favorite patch of moss.
Be well; be safe; and shine bright.
